Electromechanics

We began our industrial electrical and mechanical contracting activities in 2007. Due to the expansion of these operations, they were transferred in 2012 to Üçay Construction, a company sharing the same partnership structure as Üçay Engineering. As of August 2021, Üçay Construction stopped taking on new industrial electrical and mechanical projects, and such projects have since been undertaken and managed by Üçay Engineering. In other words, since August 2021, all contracts related to industrial electrical and mechanical projects have been signed under the Üçay Engineering name. Today, Üçay Construction focuses solely on construction contracting projects, while industrial electrical and mechanical contracting activities have been fully continued under Üçay Engineering since August 2021.

No project contracts have been — nor will be — transferred from Üçay Construction to Üçay Engineering regarding industrial electrical and mechanical contracting projects.

Information about the electrical and mechanical contracting projects completed and ongoing under Üçay Engineering is provided below:

Electrical Contracting Activities

Activities in the field of electrical contracting are divided into two main groups: Low Voltage Systems and Weak Current Systems. Depending on our clients’ requirements, these systems can be installed either as complete packages or in parts.

Low Voltage Systems are systems operating within voltage values between 1 Volt (V) and 1000 V. In Turkey, the standard residential voltage is 220 V, while the voltage used in industrial three-phase alternating current is 380 V. Electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment are used in low voltage systems and installations for safety, control, and switching operations. Common low-voltage products used in residential installations include switches, automatic circuit breakers, residual current devices, and surge arresters. In industrial and commercial networks, products such as reactive power control relays, energy meters, energy analyzers, measuring instruments, disconnectors, circuit breakers, contactors, motor protection switches, relays, and starters ensure high levels of safety and production quality.

The Üçay Engineering Electrical Division provides the installation of the following systems:

  • Lighting Fixture Installations,
  • Building Lighting Automation,
  • Generator Systems,
  • Lightning Protection and Grounding,
  • Energy Monitoring Automation (SCADA),
  • Distribution and Compensation Panels,
  • Busbar Systems (allowing safe, uninterrupted energy transfer through isolated bars in steel or aluminum enclosures with special outlet units),
  • Cable Tray Systems,

and other Low Voltage Systems for construction contracting companies developing large-scale housing and living projects.

Mechanical Contracting Activities

Mechanical contracting activities are divided into several groups, including Heating and Cooling Systems, Sanitary Systems, Ventilation Systems, Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Systems, and Automation Systems. These systems can be installed as complete packages or in sections within large residential and commercial projects.

In mechanical contracting projects, Heating/Cooling Systems include units such as air heaters, fan coils, convectors, and air handling units. Air heater systems are used in large, high-ceilinged spaces. Fan coil systems circulate air through a fan, heating or cooling it as required before returning it to the environment. Convector systems heat or cool the surrounding air based on the principle of convection. Air handling units, on the other hand, are preferred in areas that require fresh air intake; they mix the ambient air with fresh air under desired comfort conditions and reintroduce it into the environment after being heated or cooled via coils.

Sanitary Installation Systems include water heating, storage, distribution, rainwater drainage, and pressurization. These systems encompass clean water, wastewater, rainwater, and siphonic systems. Clean water systems ensure hygienic storage, pressurization, and distribution of water supplied from the municipal network. Wastewater systems collect domestic and industrial waste and direct it to municipal sewage lines or treatment facilities. Rainwater systems collect and channel rainwater from roofs or landscaped areas to storage or clean discharge systems. Siphonic systems create a vacuum effect in rainwater pipelines to collect and drain water efficiently.

In mechanical contracting projects, Ventilation Systems include parking ventilation, fresh air and exhaust systems, jet fan exhaust, smoke evacuation, and pressurization systems. Parking ventilation systems remove accumulated exhaust gases using high-capacity fans and supply fresh air. Fresh air and exhaust systems maintain air quality and comfort by replacing polluted air with clean air at the required flow rate and speed. Jet fan exhaust systems control and direct air movement within parking areas or tunnels. Smoke evacuation and pressurization systems prevent smoke from entering stairwells and elevators, ensuring safe evacuation and providing clear access routes for firefighters.

In mechanical contracting projects, Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Systems include sprinkler, hose reel, foam, gas, and hydrant systems. Sprinkler systems release a predetermined amount of water over an area within a specific time to control and extinguish fires quickly. Hose reel systems direct water under pressure via a hose reel system connected to fire pumps. Foam systems are used for extinguishing fires caused by flammable liquids and fuels where water is ineffective. Gas extinguishing systems — using agents such as FM200 (a colorless, odorless, non-conductive clean agent) — are applied in areas like electrical rooms, archives, museums, and libraries to avoid damage to sensitive equipment. Hydrant systems provide pressurized water through underground pipelines, supplying water to fire trucks and external fire-fighting operations.

Automation Systems in mechanical contracting allow all building systems to be monitored and controlled from a single interface. With remote monitoring and control capabilities, mechanical systems can operate according to desired comfort conditions, schedules, and test procedures automatically and reliably, without requiring human intervention.

As Üçay Engineering, we generally act as a subcontractor in electrical and mechanical contracting projects, strictly adhering to the technical specifications stated in the contracts. These specifications define the materials, brands, types, and quality standards that must be followed.

To deliver solutions that exceed our clients’ expectations, we continuously improve and strengthen our services with our growing team of experts. At Üçay Engineering, we constantly innovate to meet the demands of the future and maintain our leadership in the industry by adopting the latest technologies and best practices.
